We’re calling it. There’s a new plant set for social media stardom and it’s been an Australian resident for thousands of years.

Why don’t we see Rosella flowers more often in decorating and landscaping? Beauty in a pot, beauty in a vase, and this little beauty is made for backyard growing in warm parts of Australia (you’d have to try hard to kill it). I think if I was planning a wedding, Rosella would not just be the star of the bouquet and table settings, but the best man or woman too.

And it’s not just a pretty face, but a useful garden dweller. You can eat most parts of the plant and it’s great in everything from desserts to salads. Famous for jams and used to make cordials and condiments, it’s also known for its health and medicinal properties.
